On-campus pathways

Deakin College and the Deakin University English Language Institute (DUELI) are located on our Melbourne and Geelong campuses. These programs help you meet entry requirements while experiencing life at Deakin. You will have access to all facilities and student support before your degree begins.

Deakin University English Language Institute (DUELI)

DUELI prepares you with the English language skills needed to start your Deakin degree. If you meet the academic requirements but not the English requirements, you are automatically offered a place at DUELI.

Other recognised pathways to Deakin

Deakin also recognises additional pathways. These include TAFE programs and international partner pathways, which can help you meet entry requirements and prepare for your degree.

Technical and Further Education (TAFE)

Studying at a TAFE institute can provide a pathway into Deakin. Completing a Certificate IV, diploma, advanced or associate degree may give you the academic results you need for your chosen Deakin degree.

If you have completed a TAFE qualification at Diploma level or above, you may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to reduce the duration and cost of your Deakin degree.

International partner institutions

Deakin has formal pathway agreements with quality institutions worldwide. These partnerships let you start your studies locally before transferring to Deakin in Australia to complete your degree.

Pathways may offer credit for prior learning (RPL) or follow a Deakin-licensed curriculum to help you transition successfully. We have partners in countries including China, India, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and the United States.
